MELANIN & MEDICINE RECAP
Melanin & Medicine 2K26 was more than an event — it was a reminder that the future of healthcare is already in our youth.
Hosted by Build 2 Lead, this experience brought together youth, young adults, healthcare professionals, community partners, and leaders who believe in building real pathways into healthcare careers across Washington State. Throughout the day, students engaged in career pathway workshops, hands-on learning experiences, wellness-centered conversations, mentorship moments, community resources, and powerful examples of representation in action. From nurses and researchers to behavioral health leaders, biomedical technicians, first responders, and healthcare workforce professionals — our youth had the opportunity to see what is possible and hear directly from people who are opening doors in the field.
