A Letter from the Executive Director

Every season of our work tells a story.

This quarter reminded us that meaningful change begins by listening—but it grows when young people are empowered to lead.

Over the past two months, Build 2 Lead celebrated several milestones that represent years of relationship building, community partnership, and youth-centered innovation. From releasing our 2025 Annual Impact Report to completing another successful Melanin & Medicine initiative, facilitating statewide Youth Executive Committee listening sessions, and taking young people across the country for our first Peaches & Possibilities National Workforce & Career Readiness Experience, we witnessed what becomes possible when communities invest in young people's potential.

None of this work happens in isolation.

It happens because schools, families, healthcare professionals, philanthropic partners, businesses, volunteers, and community members choose to believe in the power of youth leadership.

As we prepare for an exciting summer, our focus shifts from listening to action. Our Youth Executive Committee will begin transforming community feedback into advocacy campaigns, educational events, and solutions designed by youth for youth. We also continue strengthening our organization by expanding our leadership through new staff and board recruitment.
