Mary Mbugua, is a sophomore from Thomas Jefferson High School, with capabilities that are beyond compare. A young activist and leader who strives to change the world, Mary is a bright scholar in our Civic Champions program.

Outside of school Mary makes use of her time with extracurricular activities such as writing an opinion-based article for the New York Times and the Youth Representative Co-chair with the Build 2 Lead Youth Executive Committee. She is a busy young woman with a motivation to exceed societal expectations. With her taking 3 senior level classes and figuring ways to be involved with her community, Mary has a bright future that is fast approaching. As she begins her journey to become an innovator and pioneer for change, Build 2 Lead highlights Mary Mbugua as one who will do ground-breaking work and reach heights unimaginable.
