The GameChangers Summer Academy is in full swing! Starting in early July, we are now 3 weeks into our summer programming. This fun and innovative program was developed for middle and high school students to experience site visits, fun workshops, and field trips while learning about leadership, health and physical fitness, advocacy and so much more!
Over the course of 3 weeks, our students have engaged in presentations and workshops on:
Emotional Intelligence and Self Awareness
College and Career Readiness/ The Journey to College
Financial Literacy: Budgeting, Banking, and Wealth Building
Beyond the workshops we have embarked on a series of field trips during our “field trip Fridays” which have included:
University of Puget Sound
St. Martins University
Outlet Collection Mall Business Tour
We still have 4 more weeks of programming left and are excited to continue impacting the youth and community of the Eastside in Tacoma! Thank you to our partners MetroParks Tacoma, Eastside Community Center and our guest presenters Manny Maldonado with Umpqua Bank.
