On February 8th, Build 2 Lead celebrated the graduation of the most recent cohort of Closing the G.A.P.! Thirteen students finished the program and received pre-apprenticeship credentials of an Environmental specialist!
Closing the G.A.P. is a workforce development program dedicated to providing students aged 16-24 with access to work development training, interview experience, and industry credentials. Build 2 Lead works to supply students with positive outcomes such as job retainment, enrollment into post-secondary education, and/or advanced career training!
This cohort of Closing the G.A.P. has been learning about environmental science and green jobs. With Roots of Success, the curriculum of the program creates the foundation for students to be prepared to enter the workforce or continue into higher education. The students graduated with a fundamental understanding of the following topics:
