Build 2 Lead hosted it's second annual P.O.W.E.R. Conference on May 31st and June 1st at the Eastside Community Center! The P.O.W.E.R. Conference is a legacy initiative by B2L that provides BIPOC and Multi-cultural community members with immersive opportunities to build on their generational greatness!
The P.O.W.E.R. Conference focused on high school students and their families and during this 2-day experience, students had the opportunity to engage with professionals from the healthcare industry while learning how to navigate the system, gain employment opportunities, and uplift their voices to achieve true healthcare equity.

Students and families were able to attend workshops featuring topics like Exploring Non-Clinical Healthcare Careers, Brown in Leadership, Restoring Mindz, Tacoma Community College EMT-Program, Dental Hygienist Career Options, and Flight- Nursing 101. The keynote speaker was Antonio McClemore.
The P.O.W.E.R. Conference provided students with access to medical and healthcare professionals who shared their stories, inspiration, and career advice. Through our legacy programs, B2L works to build generational greatness by exposing students and families to hands-on and interactive experiences that allow them to dream big, find new career paths, and connect with programs and BIPOC and multicultural mentors.
